The first version of instant ramen was originally developed by Momofuku Ando in Japan in 1958 as a reaction to the economic downturn from World War II. Due to post-war regulations, residents in Japan struggled to eat and so Ando strived to invent a nutritious, inexpensive, and easy-to-prepare version of ramen. After experimenting with ramen preservation methods, the winning combination was to essentially dehydrate the product through deep frying. Even to this day, the concept of instant ramen remains the same in which a customer adds boiling water to the product which rehydrates the food making it readily available to eat.
The target audience for this video is food/ramen-lovers who are curious about knowing more about the history of the food they eat.
Assets were created with the importance of "depth" in mind. Ensuring the presence of perspective and object depth helps the viewer to view the objects in relation to each other as cohesive scenes. Some examples of providing depth include gradient colour shading, visual blur on background images, or manipulating assets within a 3-dimensional space.
All movements within the video were designed to be smooth, seamless, and unobtrustive to the viewer. For example, transitions between scenes may have used assets from previous scenes (e.g., transitioning from the packaged to unpackaged ramen) to help maintain motion fludity.
